Character

The player is the main piece of the story.

I make games because they are the only medium that places whoever interacts with it in the centre of the story. Films will show and books will describe stories, but in games the players make the story and are part of it. I came to the games industry because I want to make players feel through gameplay and creating stories and moments that they will never forget.

My Design Philosophy

Express through mechanics, not cutscenes

I love every kind of game and I have designed lots of different games, but my favourites and the ones that I consider that work the best in the video game media are RPGs, due to their way of handing the story to the player. My main approach with all the games that I have designed is that games should tell their story through their mechanics, not just the cutscenes. I care a lot about coherence in all the disciplines that are in the games that I have developed. Finally, I try to embrace the video game media as much as I can. I try to blend the limitations with the game's level design environment or make the limitations its own mechanic.

The technical side

Why I learned to build

While I was studying my Master's in Game Development, I focused on the technical aspect because I understood that game development works like an instrument: there is an artistic and a technical side and to express through it correctly I would need to understand both sides as much as I can, since they both work together. I developed Moon-Knight as a way to see what Quantum Computing technology could do to video games, without breaking the systems that make a game. Understanding the technical side allows me to see solutions within the design part and vice versa. If I am able to tune both sides, I will be able to express myself better in the media.
